The Health Care District’s interfacility ambulance transportation program, LifeTrans, is dedicated to reducing wait times and expanding access to care in Palm Beach County. Our two ambulances, Apollo and Atlas, are 24/7 emergency medical service providers for basic and advanced life support (BLS and ALS) and critical care interfacility transport. The LifeTrans ground transportation program serves Health Care District patients needing transport within our medical centers’ network or to facilities within Palm Beach County that provide a higher level of care, including specialized treatment centers like the Addiction Stabilization Unit (ASU) at HCA Florida JFK North Hospital in West Palm Beach. This program also serves non-Health Care District patients at Palm Beach County hospitals needing transport to and from the ASU or to our Mangonia Park Addiction Treatment Clinic located on the ASU's campus.
